THE ACKNOWLEDGMENT PRINCIPLE:
We admit our faults to one another. [James 5:16]

THE ACKNOWLEDGMENT PRINCIPLE

We admit our faults to one another. [James 5:16]

For in fact the body is not one member but many.

If the foot should say,

"Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body," is it therefore not of the body?"

And if the ear should say,

"Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body," is it therefore not of the body?

If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing?

If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling?

But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.

And if they were all one member, where would the body be?

But now indeed there are many members, yet one body.

And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you";

nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you."

No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.

1Cor 12:14-22

Each Is Important to the Body

Each believer helps the body. Our roles take on importance, when we recognize that God has assigned them to us. We may feel like we have little that we can do. What we do must possess significance, because the Lord considers the body incomplete without that contribution.

No cell of the body functions correctly, unless it is rightly related to the head. When the body part is properly connected to the brain, it can be responsive to it. We are not functioning properly, if we are not receiving messages from the head.

The Body is Designed to Minister to You

Not only are we important to the body, but the body is important to us. We find a diversity of gifts in the fellowship. The Lord has sovereignly given these gifts to minister to us. None of us have all the gifts and the Lord makes up for our deficiencies by having others fill in the gaps.

We Must Let the Body Function

Sometimes we resist letting the body minister to us. We may be ashamed and afraid to disclose to the other body parts how the issues of our lives really are. As we hide, we are preventing the other members of the body from helping and nurturing and caring. They are unable to sorrow with our sorrows and to rejoice with our rejoicing. We miss out on what the Lord has for us to encourage us and lift us up.

We all do better when we discover the life of the body.

How have you seen the body minister in your life?

How do we block the body from ministering to us?

What are some of the negative effects when we do not let the body minister to us?

Remember:

Let the body minister to you.
