Many people try to use Jesus to get what they want: An abusive husband tries to use Jesus to get his wife back, or a person in business tries to use Jesus to succeed. In his message “The Unconverted Convert,” Pastor Brian Brodersen focuses on Simon the sorcerer, who sought to use Jesus to gain power and promote his own plan. In contrast, however, we must come to Jesus on His terms, not ours, to receive mercy and forgiveness and to humbly submit ourselves to His plan and purpose.
